7 reasons why you MUST have your own info product
Think about this: What is the number one reason people get online everyday? Simple. To get information. This is so ubiquitous a quest that Google handles 400 million queries a day! So what does this mean to you? It means that you have a massive opportunity to give people exactly what they’re looking for – information. And if you do it right . . . to make some money along the way.
What is info marketing?
This is by far the simplest business you can start. You develop a product that is nothing more than information. And people pay you for the information inside it.. Pretty simple, wouldn’t you say?
How does it work?
You’ve got the basic concept – exchange info for money. In order to be successful there has to be value in the info you’re selling. So the key is to figure out what people want. How do figure that out?
A super simple trick is to just to check “answer” sites. Just go to Yahoo! answers or ask.com and see what kinds of questions people are asking. You’re looking for popular questions or common themes. For things that are causing people discomfort. And provide the answer – in the form of an info product.
An encouraging word
If you’re worried about how to write and ebook. Put it this way: An info product is just a bunch of articles strung together. Don’t try to write a whole ebook. Just try to write one or two articles a day. And once you have bunch of good ones, expand and embellish them and put them together into an ebook.
OK, what’s so hot about digital products? Interestingly enough, we’re back to the name of this article Here are 7 reasons for you:
1. Simplicity and ease
An info product business runs on auto-pilot. There is almost no support. So you can just set it up and let it run. It’s like having an automated cash machine.
There’s no inventory. There’s nothing to ship. Your business is 100% digital.
2. Repackaging
Once you have a few info products created. You can put together bigger more expensive information products. It’s a simple matter to merge a few ebooks into one. Then you can sell it for a lot more. Your customers will gladly pay more for a single bigger ebook. Instead of several small ebooks.
3. Private label right
Since it’s your product, you can offer other people the resale rights. Resell rights are very hot right now, because it’s much easier to get the resell right than to make your own product. Plus, you can charge double, even triple your selling price for resell rights!
4. Leverage
Leverage means doing something once and reaping multiple rewards. Use part of it to make an autoresponder series. You can use this to build a list that you can marketing to again and again.
5. More leverage
You can also take parts of your ebook and turn it into smaller eBooks. These reports can then become lead generators for your ebook. They can be free or low prices. Either way, you win because you’re feeding your funnel. Taking this technique to the max, you can let your affiliate give the reports away for you. Wait, did I say “affiliates”?
6. An army of affiliates
This is one of the biggest reasons of all. Once you have your own product. Other people can become your affiliates. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a bunch of other people doing your marketing for you? Well, you *need* your own product to get affiliates.
7. Joint Ventures
Last, but definitely not least… Setting up joint ventures is the fastest way to gain success. Period. And this is probably the number one reason to create your own product. No products of your own = no way to do joint ventures.
In closing
If you can’t see the power of info product marketing, then you’ve probably been sleeping. You’ll become the ruler of your own fate. Because it’s your business and you control it. So, don’t waste any more time:
- Visit an “answers” site
- Discover what questions are being asked
- Start providing information
Don’t make info product creation any more complicated than that. And in no time you’ll have an info product ready to go.

Hi Matt
Yes we live in the world where if you have a computer you can search for information and receive it instantly. Even the words “Google it” are part of our langauge.
A little about me – My name is Sue McDonald and I am a student of Mark Terrell and I am actually going through the course a second time – by invitation.
