As this is my first post I will talk about what this blog is all about.

Why Adventures in Internet Marketing?

In a word: FUN.

I wanted to have more fun making money online and believe that treating my business ventures as adventure’s makes things more exciting. I have found that approaching challenges with a sense of adventure also suits me as a person, as I have an adventurous spirit.

When I first started with a network marketing opportunity I was focused on achieving the goal of making money online so that I could quit a job I hated. I had no business or marketing experience and started marketing a product because it offered a good profit margin. I was following the advice of my sponsor and the company marketing team and was doing all this marketing stuff that I was not my style and did not suit my strengths. In other words, I was crap at marketing and trying to sell an opportunity I was not very interested in. This made the marketing tasks I was performing seem like chores, which made getting on the computer to do work, the last thing I wanted to do. The product was decent enough and I knew there was a market for it, but I just could not connect with others who might be interested in it because I was not interested in it. However I kept at it, believing that the end would justify the means and thinking that I could hide my lack of interest in the product.

As you can probably guess the results were not good, in fact it was a complete disaster. To make matters worse, I also started trying other money making opportunities and methods, which split my focus so I was not succeeding at anything I did. I felt like the worst internet marketer on the planet.

Although I did make some money back then, I had spent much, much more on internet marketing products, advertising and systems. Eventually, I realized ( with a lot help of my wife) that I had to make some changes, or we would really be broke. I needed to change my perspective, how I approach things, what to focus on and how I should achieve my goals.

Fortunately I have learnt a lot from my failures and experiences, and also found that there is a lot about internet marketing that I enjoy. I even discovered some things that I am quite good at.

So this blog will be about what I have learnt from my adventures so far and will continue to learn, along with the things I most enjoy about internet marketing and being in business online. These include: psychology,  branding, social media, storytelling, leadership and strategy. Really, anything I find useful, helpful, fun and/or interesting I will share.

I will just let the laws of attraction do the rest in achieving the other goal of this blog: to meet like-minded entrepreneurs, leaders and anyone who could benefit from my ideas, experiences etc.

Well, I think that just about covers it for an intro, so I will sign off.
