If you are just getting started with blogging you will probably want to start building a list or provide a newsletter service.

However, you need an autoresponder service to manage this process, and most of the good ones cost money (either a monthly or yearly subscription). And building that first list can take some time.

If you want to keep costs down I found what looks like a good free altrernative. I have not tried it myself yet, but it does come highly recomended.

The service is called mailchimp and the free acount lets you build a mailing list of 2000 people, which is pretty cool

Although I use Aweber (a paid autoresponder) on some of my other sites I will be testing mail chimp out on this blog in the next few days and I’ll report back, but check it out here till then.
